Dara studied adult nursing in Queens University in Belfast, graduating in 2002 and going to work in Intensive care in Altnagelvin Hospital. Here she worked for 4 years as a junior and following completion of a specialist practice Bsc Hons degree in adult nursing with an intensive care focus, went on to become a band 6 nurse in charge for the following 12 years.
In 2018 Dara, her husband and her family moved to Jersey. She worked for another 6 years in intensive care caring for adults, children, babies and in a nurse in charge role for her final year.
In August 2024 Dara joined the team at IMC with the dual role of community nurse, covering home visits 2 days a week and 3 days a week in clinic as a practice nurse. Her focus at present is on Weight loss and travel clinics and will soon be offering asthma assessments once training is complete.
In her spare time Dara loves to travel and explore new places, spending time with her kids, loves time on the beach and tries to pop home regularly to see her new grandson.
